The Kiyita Family Alliance for Development (KIFAD) has been operating and serving communities as a local NGO in the Wakiso District of Uganda since 2001.
KIFAD's mission is to respond to causes and consequences of disease, poverty and ignorance with a commitment to mobilizing communities to tackle challenges and live with dignity. To achieve this, KIFAD uses a sustainable asset-based development model through a broad range of programming areas including health, food security and nutrition, child protection and legal support, education, economic strengthening, and psycho-social support.
KIFAD's vision is ultimately a self-reliant community where people are free from HIV/AIDS and are living an improved quality of life. Through an integrated approach centered on viewing every person and community as a resource and the idea that working with communities rather than for them achieves the most powerful results, KIFAD effectively works towards achieving this vision in each one of its projects.
